Cardinal Hill Day 3 (Friday)

Whew what a GREAT & busy day Jordan had!  I must say there is not a lot of down time here @ CH! This is good for both of us!! They have her up and moving all day long!!  Today we got to sleep in a little & we both needed that extra sleep on this rainy morning!! Today we meet with an OT eye specialist that recommends we see a behavioral ophthalmologist in Versailles once she is discharged from CH. They said she will more than likely require some vision therapy to help her correct her vision.  This will take lots of letter writing on their part to get UK HMO to cover the MD visits because it is out of the UK network. It is also my understanding that vision therapy is NOT covered by insurance :(  The cost will be about $300 a visit or roughly $5k a year!  Yes, I was in SHOCK @ that figure but we will cross that bridge when we come to it & God will find a way to provide.

I must say that today she was a real go getter & tolerated therapy well!  Finally, her appetite is also back and she is eating very well!!  The steroids that she is on may have something to do with it but that is ok as long as she is eating!!

Tonight she had lots of visitors and she was happy to see all of them!  I must say it did wear her out because she was fast asleep by 8:45!! Tomorrow is another full day of therapy & she is looking forward to it!   PRAY FOR JORDAN :)

  2. I'm so glad to read this wonderful update. I did vision therapy and it was worth every penny. It didn't end up costing that much because I was able to do the exercises at home, only seeing the doctor a few times for follow ups and new exercises. My vision was horrible and now almost perfect:) It was one of my worst deficits. I did the exercises like crazy, and slowly it got better. All the best.

  4. Don't get me started on insurance companies...ugh!! Not sure who you are planning on going to but my experience with Dr. Garbus was nothing short of a miracle. I was told by several doctors, before I found Dr. Garbus, that there was nothing I could do to improve my vision....so glad they were wrong. You can find similar providers at WWW.nora.cc Cheering you on Jordan!! It's hard work, I know, but you can do it!
