2015 Reflections

What a great year 2015 was for Jordan!!  Of course she has rocked it out in school by graduating in May with her AD in radiology sciences, went on to take the boards and passed with a PERFECT score!!!  She went straight into the CT/MRI program and just passed her CT boards and will start MRI in January.  We are all so proud of her for achieving her goals!  Jordan pours herself into her studies and the results are nothing short of AMAZING!!!
Everyone is always asking about a wedding date!  A wedding date has still not been set.  Jordan wants to wait until she is completely done with school before starting to focus on planning a wedding!  I know when the wedding planning starts it will be very crazy and I suspect Taylor will act as the wedding planner!
Health wise 2015 has been a GREAT year for Jordan!!!!  This year has been surgery FREE (except for wisdom teeth coming out)!!!!!!   The year we have just had regularly scheduled check ups and only one scare which turned out to be nothing.  On one hand it was very very odd not to have a surgery, since a surgery a year had become the norm since 2012!  As a Mom I am very thankful and I continue to pray that 2016 will be just as good to her!
Of course Christmas was also Jordan & Taylor's 23rd  Birthday!! As all of you can expect Christmas at our house is very crazy!  We had a good Birthday celebration in the morning and then we celebrated Christmas that afternoon!  Having Christmas babies makes for a very fun day!!

We hope that you and yours had a wonderful Christmas and wish you nothing but the best in 2016! #prayforjordan

One year later....

This week makes one year since we traveled to Boston for the 2nd phase of the facial surgery.  I wished I could tell you that she has movement but to be honest she doesn't.  We were so excited for this surgery and we were very hopeful for a great outcome.  While there isn't much movement, people that don't get to see her very often see a difference in her face. I wished that we could see it as much as they tell me they see it.  Jordan doesn't really see it and to be honest she really doesn't talk about it much.  I know deep down she was hoping for a better outcome & is disappointed.  She has overcame so much & has accomplished many things these past 3 years!  So YES we are going to continue our daily lives and Jordan will continue to achieve great things!  PRAY FOR JORDAN!

Three years today....

Today is a day full of lots of emotions for me as a Mom.  It is hard to believe that is has been 3yrs since Jordan's surgery, which ultimately became the 1st day of her "new" normal. Looking back if you would have told me then that she would be where she is today, I would have thought you were crazy.  The best word that I can use to describe her during that 1st year was fragile,  She was fragile mentally, physically, and emotionally.  We were just talking the other day and I asked her what she had expected after surgery. Her response was "she thought she would be better right then". That response was pretty emotional for me.  This journey has been hard for her but yet she proved and continues to prove that she is one tough, strong person.
Now here we are 3yrs later and she has finished her associates degree with honors and is going on to get her Bachelor's. She wasn't going to let a brain bleed & her physical limitations stop her from dreaming and seeing those dreams become a reality! There are just not enough words to describe how inspirational she is to me on a daily basis.
So today we will celebrate life and Jordan!  PRAY FOR JORDAN!!

Graduating from College!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted!!  I guess the old saying of no news is good news is true for us!!!   Here is a quick update on Jordan :):)
It was about this time 3yrs ago when Jordan called me to say her eye was going crazy again and we knew she more than likely she had a bleed but little did we know that this event would start a journey that is & will always be ongoing for her. The journey for her has been long, hard, & at times she was ready to throw in the towel.  After only taking ONE semester off of school I am proud to say that Jordan will be recognized for her academic achievement’s tomorrow @ MSU.  She will graduate with honors from MSU next week & is going on to obtain her Bachelor’s.  Brain surgery sure didn’t keep her from keeping a 4.0 thru college!  #jordansjourney #oneproudmom

Happy New Year!!!

First let me say I am sorry I am behind on doing an update!   Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year! The girls and I were unlucky enough to have the flu over Christmas:(  So Christmas & birthday's was spent on the couch!
Believe it or not there isn't a lot to update on!  Jordan is doing great:) She hasn't had any MD appts, expect for a regular eye appt in some time!  Must say it is kind of nice to not have to go to a MD every week!   We are entering the period where we could start seeing some facial movement!  This is very exciting yet very scary all at the same time!  I am hopeful that she will have movement and all she has been through the past year or so has all been worth it!
As I have come to expect she got another 4.0 last semester and is back on campus this semester.  As part of her Honor's scholarship @ MSU she has to do a international study.  Due to her medical condition they have agreed to let her do a Cruise!  So this spring break her & Cory will be traveling to fulfill that requirement and to enjoy the sun/sand!  I must say I am kind of jealous!  LOL
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts & prayers!!  PRAY FOR JORDAN!!
